For Employers
Grow your crew from the inside.
NRAP gives roofing contractors a structured, federally registered way to take on apprentices and build the workforce you actually need - without going through a staffing agency.
What you get.
Why Sponsor an Apprentice.
1. Workforce pipeline
Solve your skilled-labor shortage from within.
2. Retention & loyalty
Apprentices you develop tend to stay longer than open-market hires.
3. Safety culture
OSHA-trained from day one, fewer incidents on the job.
4. Tax credits
Tax credits and other tax incentives related to apprenticeship programs may be available and vary by state, employer, and program. Employers should consult with their qualified tax advisor to determine whether any federal, state, or local tax incentives apply to their specific circumstances. NRAP does not provide tax or financial advice.
Workforce pipeline
Stop bidding against every other contractor for the same shrinking labor pool. Grow journeymen from inside your own company — people who already know your standards, your culture, and your tools.
Retention that compounds
Apprentices you develop yourself tend to stay longer than open-market hires, and the investment in their classroom hours is recovered as their productivity grows.
How Employer Participation Works.

Connect with the Right Program
We help you navigate the process.
NRAP helps connect you with the appropriate apprenticeship sponsor, ABC chapter, registration agency, or workforce partner for your location. When a new program is needed, we can help you understand the process and assist with required documentation.

Identify Your Apprentices
Build from within or bring in new talent.
Employers may enroll eligible existing employees or hire new apprentices. Your apprenticeship sponsor or workforce partners can also help connect you with potential candidates.

Begin Training
Apprentices learn while they work.
Apprentices receive structured on-the-job learning with your experienced team while completing related technical instruction using NCCER curriculum. Training and progress are documented according to the requirements of the registered program.
