About NRAP

We don't build new training. We connect what already works.

Our mission

The National Roofing Apprenticeship Program is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit standing up a single, nationally portable apprenticeship pathway for the roofing trade — built on the training assets that already exist, structured to USDOL Registered Apprenticeship standards, and delivered through the contractors, chapters, and educators who already serve the industry.

We exist to solve a specific problem: the roofing industry is short tens of thousands of skilled workers, and the pathways into the trade are fragmented across chapters, contractors, CTE programs, and state agencies. NRAP is the connective tissue — one framework, one credential, one set of standards that a worker can carry from state to state without starting over.

Our vision

A roofing trade where every entry-level worker has a clear pathway to journeyman, every credential travels, every employer has a workforce pipeline, and every chapter has the playbook to bring NRAP to their region.

We measure that vision in three numbers: apprentices enrolled, states actively running NRAP cohorts, and Journey worker credentials issued each year. The website's live scorecard reflects exactly those.

The middle bridge

NRAP sits between three constituencies that all want the same outcome but rarely sit at the same table.

The institutions

The associations and standards bodies that have written the curriculum and credential standards for the trade.

The employers

Roofing contractors who hire and train, who carry the workforce on their backs, and who need a structured way to grow their crews from the inside.

The workers

Apprentices entering the trade — many from high-school CTE programs, many from career changes — who need a real entry point, not a brochure.
